This pixellated lizard or gecko was a new technique for me. Using a fusible gridded web, I laid out the design for the lizard and the light background with 1.5" squares of fabric. It started out way bigger than the result you see here. This is a great way to piece small pieces of fabric. After stitching, each pixel ended up at just under an inch. To complete this wall quilt, I've used three quilting techniques ... free motion quilting, walking foot quilting and long arm quilting. The binding is the last thing to do.
I'm working on a few projects for the Asheville Quilt Guild show coming up on Friday Sept. 29, Sat. Sept. 30 and Sun. Oct. 1, 2017 at the WNC Ag Center on Airport Road. It's a great show with lots of beautiful quilts plus vendors with more fabric and quilting supplies!
