I am not a fan of overquilting which seems to be the gold standard for quilting nowadays. To me, the simpler the better. But, look at this, I find myself with a quilt with an abundance of free motion quilting. It didn't start out this way. I just got carried away. It became kind of hypnotic and a challenge to find ways to fill the spaces left after I had stitched in a few spirals. I've finally decided what to do in the center space and hopefully will finish that tomorrow. I feel I need to add some FMQ to the central focal area to balance with the amount of quilting surrounding it. I'll put this in the Gallery section (for sale) at the Asheville Quilt Show coming up Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1, 2017. Thanks!
