Vibrant blue, purple and green fabrics, including some Kaffe Fassett fabrics and batiks, were featured in the circles on this dramatic quilt.  On the green background surrounding the circles (a block called Drunkard's Path ... for some reason), there is stippling, a tighter quilting pattern, which makes the blue and purple circles pop out in relief from the green background.  The tiny "tiles" down the middle and along the edges remind me of a floor tile pattern I love.
I just finished this new wall quilt that can be placed over a bed or sofa (horizontally) or as an art quilt (vertically).

At approximately 21" x 47", it would look great as a decorative accent over a queen size bed (or headboard) with a little room to spare on each side.  There are pockets on the back for inserting a slim curtain rod or dowel so you can hang it in either a horizontal or vertical format.  And it's narrow enough at 21.5" to fit in a lot of tight spaces if hung vertically.

The old saying of "opportunity meets preparation" holds true in this case.  I was contacted by a volunteer working with the Asheville Art Museum about donating a textile creation for their upcoming fundraising gala in June 2017.  This is the new quilt called "Light at Midnight" I created especially for this fundraiser.  It was a surprise and an honor to be asked to provide an item (proceeds if the quilt is sold at the fundraiser will be split 50/50 with the Museum).  There are many quilters much more experienced in Asheville but they don't all have a website.  So ... opportunity meets preparation.
